KFOR

How can the LDESP Program help participants prepare for their KFOR mission?

The LDESP program is geared to prepare participants to accomplish their mission of establishing durable cessation of hostilities, promoting regional security and enforcing compliance with the conditions of the Military Technical Agreement and UNSCR 1244 in Kosovo.

The LDESP syllabus makes extensive use of lessons learned. Interviews with personnel in units deployed in Kosovo indicate that - while existing training is excellent - senior leaders of future units would benefit from a specialized, supplementary education program focused on advancing regional stability. In particular, veterans emphasized that units need additional preparation to accomplish the mission while operating as an effective team in partnership with the authorities and civilian agencies (US and international) responsible for building the foundations for self-sustaining peace in Kosovo.
